FAQs

Should you refrigerate Boston cream pie?

Refrigerating the Boston cream pie is highly recommended since it might perish easily when left at room temperature for over an hour.

Otherwise, the pastry cream would be unable to support the ganache, and it would not be as presentable when cut and served. But should Boston Cream Donuts be kept in the fridge?

What’s a Boston cream pie?

A Boston cream pie is unlike the traditional pie since it combines a butter cake layer with vanilla custard and is glazed with chocolate ganache or icing [2].

It resembles the cake you bake at home or buys in a bakery rather than pie.

Why is Boston cream pie so good?

Its soft, buttery, moist texture and balanced taste make a Boston cream pie so good that it became a famous and classic dessert in the US.

Additionally, the unique ingredients being used and combination twists make it stand out among other pies.

Final Words

This classic cream pie is one of the all-time favorite pies of Americans, next to apple pie.

If you visit Boston, make sure to try some of its unique versions from the top bakeries and restaurants mentioned above.
